On January 20, the acceptance of applications for the competition of the republican scholarship program of Shakhmardan Yessenov Science and Education Foundation started. By April 3, we will know the names of 25 owners.
– The second small but pleasant innovation will be the acceptance of applications online on the foundation’s website, – said Nursultan Nurmukhanov, the program coordinator.
Yessenov scholarship is awarded to the second- and third-year students of bachelor’s degree, first-year students of master’s degree and first-year students of internship who study natural sciences, technical, medical and IT specialties. To participate in the competition, one needs to fill out an online application and attach the required documents. The competition regulations are also posted on the site, where you can find details.
– We will accept applications until 15.00 of February 20. We will announce the results of the first round by March 10. The second round will be held, as always, in two capitals. This will be a traditional business game that will help us get acquainted with the personal and psychological qualities of the contestants. We will announce the winners by the Geologist Day, which is celebrated in Kazakhstan on the first Sunday of April – Nursultan added.
Yessenov scholarship has been awarded for the 8th year in a row to the best Kazakh students of a wide range of specialties. It is paid monthly throughout the year, becoming a good help to the student budget.
After the Shakhmardan Yessenov’s death, his wife Kamilya Karabalayeva established 2 scholarships to support future geologists-talented students of KazNTU named after Satpayev. The scholarship had been awarded by the decision of university’s academic Council. In 2013, after the foundation was established by Galimzhan Yessenov, the program was transferred to Shakhmardan Yessenov Foundation. Since 2015, the scholarship has become a republican. Students studying at Kazakhstan universities in natural science, technical, IT and medical specialties were able to take part in the program.
