THE OUTCOMES OF THE FIRST STAGE OF THE GRANT COMPETITION
11 January 2016. The contest committee of the Shakhmardan Yessenov Science and Education Foundation summed up the outcome of the first stage of the competition for a grant for summer research internships in the US university laboratories.
To pass this first stage of the selection, the applicants had to have a certain level of academic achievement, quality of the applications, the degree of interest of students in the continuation of the research and their willingness to engage in scientific activities in the future. The second and final stage of the competition is in the format of a business role-playing game and interview and will take place from 23 to 25 of January. Such format is aimed at identifying personal qualities of the applicants.
The Foundation received a total of 146 applications from students living in more than 20 cities of Kazakhstan and enrolled in 18 universities of the country. 36 students passed the first stage and qualify for the next, final stage of the competition. The first stage finalists will be informed about the details of the next round no later than January 18. Below is the list of these applicants.
