THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED

Requested by many students, the new deadline gives an additional whole month for all the applicants to send in the required documents.

Earlier this autumn the Foundation, which mission is to develop the intellectual potential of Kazakhstan, set November 20 as the deadline for submission of documents for the grant. The organization provides 10 grants, eligibility criteria for the grant being sophomore and junior students of the Kazakhstan universities majoring in science and technology, which will allow the winners to undertake a research internship at the leading laboratories of the US. The applicants also must be citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is worth mentioning that the competition is also open for the senior students of medical universities, since the undergraduate program there is five years long instead of four, as in other specialties.

A research internship in a lab is an essential requirement of admissions to enroll to a PhD program. The present program of grants for summer research internships have been running for two years.  To the date, 19 Kazakh students completed the internships in labs of such universities as the California Institute of Technology, Harvard Medical School, Boston University and Colorado State University. Detailed information on eligibility and about the program itself can be found on the Foundation’s website.
