The program for high school students was held entirely in Kazakh for the first time in the history of the project.
The meeting was attended by Almaty’s high school and lyceum students who wanted to learn how to build their professional path in life. Within the framework of Find Your Way, the creator of the only company in Kazakhstan that accepts all types of recyclable materials, Aibek Rakhim, spoke:
– I told the guys about how I built my business. To be honest, it was not easy and not easy, but it will be useful for them to learn that success is not only luck, but also hard work.
In addition to the entrepreneur, grandmaster and Executive director of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation Gulmira Dauletova, assistant professor, head of the laboratory at Nazarbayev University Gulnur Kalimuldina and senior software engineer at Microsoft Eldan Abdrashim took part in the conference of the Yesenov Foundation for schoolchildren.
– I shared with the guys what it’s like to work in a global IT company, what departments exist, what professions, specialties, positions, so that they understand that this area brings great opportunities for them, and that IT is not only programming and writing code, – E.Abdrashim shared.
Saken Sydykov, the author and producer of mobile games, told the gathered high school students about his path and how to become a game developer. Tamerlan Ibraemov, the manager of an international company that provides power systems in more than 80 countries of the world, who completed an internship at the Polytechnic University in Barcelona, explained to the children how good academic performance at school helped him in choosing a profession.

And resident physician of the National Scientific Center of Cardiac Surgery Adina Yerzhan, who interned at the Harvard School of Medicine, told where to start if one wants to devote yourself to medicine. A graduate of the lyceum named after Ghandi Zhibek Bekenzhankyzy gave a welcoming speech to the participants, she is now a researcher at Nazarbayev University, who is currently undergoing an internship at the University of Michigan (USA).
– Our event is free of charge. The first conferences were held before the pandemic at Narxoz University, KBTU and KIMEP. In total, about 900 high school students visited them, 54 guest speakers spoke, – said Grigoriy Li, program coordinator of the Shakhmardan Yessenov Foundation.
Recall that Find Your Way is a scientific and educational program of the Yessenov Foundation, which started in 2019. She helps high school students and first-year students to determine their lives, find their vocation, make life and career more interesting and richer.
– We run our program under the slogan “It’s never too early to learn.” The sooner you start thinking about the future, the more interesting your today will become. Therefore, we help students learn about existing opportunities and motivate them to use them, and at the same time engage in self-development and broaden their horizons. We invite youngsters to listen to people who, despite their young age, already have experience and have achieved something,” Grigory added.
