YESSENOV LECTURES JOINED BY MAKSIMAINEN & YESSENOV

On March 18 one of the best business schools in Kazakhstan — AlmaU — will once again host Yessenov Lectures. The event’s guests are Jukka Maksimainen, Managing Partner of the McKinsey & Company Kazakhstan and Galimzhan Yessenov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ATFBank, the founder of Shakhmardan Yessenov Foundation.

Both speakers will talk to the students about KPIs and Performance Management highlighting local and global best practices.

As a business personality, Galimzhan Yessenov needs no introduction.  He graduated from the Academy of Economics and Management of the Eurasian Institute of Market and received his MBA degree from the London School of Business and Finance. Galimzhan has fifteen years of managerial experience in the business: he managed manufacturing companies and led the Board of Directors of Deltabank. He also chaired the Alliance and insurance Alliance Police companies’ Boards of Directors. Galymzhan is also a member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organisation) and “Dom Mamy” (“Mother’s Home”) charity project.

Jukka Maksimainen has been working in Kazakhstan since 2013. His portfolio includes global resource sector companies and sovereign welfare funds. Since 2006 he is with McKinsey & Company. He has participated in over 60 projects in all six continents throughout his career, which also includes working in national and international oil and mining companies. In an interview to National Business he explained his interest in meeting with students: “McKinsey is an international company engaged in, among other things, its own research and investment in education”. Mr. Maksimainen graduated from the Helsinki University of Technology, being a Finnish citizen, he is fluent in English, Swedish and German and speaks a little Russian too.

The lecture will be held in English for ALMAU sophomores of the Department of Management. Half of the lecture time is specifically allocated to Q&As to give the attendees the opportunity to ask the lecturers any burning questions on the subject.
