Every year the organizers look for children in need, have their photos taken and publish the photo shoot online accompanying each picture with a short information about the child that includes the diagnosis and kid\u2019s New Year wish. Since 2010, Voxpopuli.kz and Sputnik shopping center have been the supporters of the project by Komanda SOS. And every year, Sputnik puts up a new year tree with the children\u2019s photographs so any citizen may try on Santa\u2019s costume and choose the child they want to make happy.<\/p>\n

Last year our numerous Santas made the children with palsy (Association of parents of children with disabilities (ARDI) happy by\u00a0fulfilling their New Year wishes<\/a>. \u00a0Among the beneficiaries of the New Year Wish Tree 2017 will be 16 young patients of the Center for the Support and Development of children with cancer \u201cYa S Toboi\u201d (I’m with you) organized by \u201cZdorovaya Aziya\u201d (Healthy Asia) foundation. These are kids from four to 14 years, \u2013 told\u00a0Grigoriy Lee<\/strong>\u00a0of Komanda SOS. \u2013 We have also made a commitment to help several families where children have cancer. These children are also monitored by the center even though they live in remote villages of Almaty oblast. In addition to the gifts, families will receive food baskets.<\/p>\n

The New Year Wish Tree organizer\u00a0Zhadyra Sarman<\/strong>\u00a0adds, \u2013 we are raising money for the surgery of a 4-year-old\u00a0Lera Gerasyuk<\/strong>. The girl has a stage 4 neurofibromatosis (tumor of the eyelids). As they told us at the center, just until recently, the child’s condition was severe that non-domestic clinics did not dare to accept the girl for an operation. However, not long ago Lera\u2019s state has improved enough to be accepted by one of Moscow\u2019s clinics for the operation. In the first few days after the report on New Year Wish Tree with snapshots of the sick children was\u00a0published on Voxpopuli.kz<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and the New Year tree with photos was installed in the Sputnik shopping mall, the organizers have begun receiving calls from compassionate people ready to become a Santa Claus for a special child with simple needs any kid would wish – toys. Delivering the gifts to their rightful owners is planned for January 13.<\/p>\n
