{"id":520,"date":"2017-02-27T11:54:20","date_gmt":"2017-02-27T08:54:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/?p=520"},"modified":"2017-11-23T10:32:21","modified_gmt":"2017-11-23T07:32:21","slug":"shahmatnyiy-turnir-v-den-geologa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/en\/shahmatnyiy-turnir-v-den-geologa\/","title":{"rendered":"GEOLOGISTS PLAY CHESS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1488173494_afisha_a3-turnira-v-kaznitu.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-521\" src=\"https:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1488173494_afisha_a3-turnira-v-kaznitu-250x250.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The chess competition will be held on the eve of the Day of geologist in Kazakhstan in the main building of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/kaznitu.kz\/en\">Satpayev KazNRTU<\/a>. \u00a0Tournament\u2019s organized by the Shakhmardan Yessenov Foundation in collaboration with the Satpayev University.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 We decided to organize a chess tournament to celebrate the scientist\u2019s anniversary to commemorate his lifelong hard work as a geologist, minister of geology and president of the Kazakh SSR Academy of Sciences. \u00a0His endeavors led to discovery of many deposits upon which the modern Kazakhstan has built its economy. \u00a0So naming the event &#8220;Shakhmardan Yessenov Memorial&#8221; feels justified \u2013 said the\u00a0<strong>Foundation\u2019s Executive Director Aiganym Malisheva<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Not a cent less\u00a0<strong>1 million 200 thousand tenge<\/strong>\u00a0is the total prize fund of the tournament, the winner winning the 450 thousand tenge. Following one of chess traditions, the\u00a0<strong>best 10 players<\/strong>will receive awards as well. Kazbek Tukubaev will be the judge at the tournament, ensuring the 9 rounds of Swiss system.
