LAUNCH PREPARATIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1496037480_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-479 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1496037480_2-300x203.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1496037480_2-300x203.jpg 300w, https:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1496037480_2-768x519.jpg 768w, https:\/\/yessenovfoundation.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1496037480_2.jpg 844w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Starting the new school year, a new subject, Chess, will be implemented in 18 schools in\u00a0<strong>Almaty, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar and Pavlodar region<\/strong>. \u00a0The project is sponsored by the Shakhmardan Yessenov foundation, which will equip one classroom in each of the selected schools with 20 chessboards and chess pieces, demonstration board, projector and a screen, laptop, speakers, printer and textbooks, workbooks and teacher\u2019s books specially issued for the program.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Chess will be taught once a week in the second grades of these schools. \u00a0There are\u00a0<strong>42 grades<\/strong>\u00a0in the pilot. \u00a0We issued a set of books in both Kazakh and Russian authored by well-known Kazakhstani chess players,\u00a0<strong>Fluora Khasanova<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Gulmira Dauletova<\/strong>, &#8211; said the\u00a0<strong>foundation\u2019s executive director Aiganym Malisheva<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Training courses for the teachers will take place in Almaty (8 teachers), Kyzylorda (12), and Pavlodar (16). \u00a0The courses are delivered by the textbook\u2019s authors and FIDE arbiters. \u00a0In Almaty and Kyzylorda, the project\u2019s psychologists will receive their training from the faculty members of the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University, Almagul Ayaganova and Sholpan Imangaliyeva, who also have designed tests and research methods for the project. \u00a0Adil Samekin, Ph.D., faculty member of the Toraigyrov Pavlodar State University, will train the psychologists for Pavlodar\u2019s schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 It\u2019s a pilot project. \u00a0The key requirement for participation is chess is taught in one of the two parallel grades. \u00a0Psychologists, trained for the project, will make assessments at the beginning, middle and end of the school year focusing on pupils\u2019 attention span, memory improvement, changes in thinking, etc. \u00a0Based on these findings, they will make a conclusion and only after that a decision will be taken whether the program \u201cChess in Schools\u201d will be introduced nationwide, &#8211;
