STUDENTS CREATE PROGRAMS

The Foundation announces competition for the best idea for the new prospective program. Authors of the best ideas will be awarded.

The competition is open to any citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan who is over 18 years old. Participation deadline is on February 28th at 23:59.  All completed program passports of proposed projects must be emailed to info@yessenovfoundation.org. Proposed program has to be in line with the foundation’s mission to develop Kazakhstan’s intellectual potential and its activities. Your suggestions for the new program can be in one of the following fields:

  • promotion of science among schoolchildren
  • promotion of science among students
  • supporting young scientists
  • supporting development of science in Kazakhstan
  • supporting education in scientific and technical disciplines among schoolchildren
  • supporting education in scientific and technical disciplines among students.

Relevance and importance of the program will add an advantage during shortlisting the authors.

The foundation regularly holds brainstorming sessions internally and meets with students too, to understand and address the students’ needs in new scientific educational programs. Thanks to such meetings and discussion, the foundation’s currents programs as Research internships in world laboratories, English language program, internships at robotic and IT startups were born.

– Following the foundation’s mission – to develop Kazakhstan’s intellectual potential – we want to implement effective and relevant programs. So, we took the decision to announce this contest for the best ideas for our future programs.  The winners of the contest will be announced by March 10.  The foundation has every intention to implement the programs that win, – says the organization’s Executive Director, Ms Aiganym Malisheva.

They say there will be three winners, but what are the prizes?  This questions is answered by the program’s coordinator Ilzira Aldagarova:

– The first place winner will get the chance to attend a scientific seminar of her/his own choice.  We will partially cover associated costs for airline tickets, registration fee, meals and accommodation. The first and second place holders will be invited to the annual meeting with the founders and management of the foundation that takes place in Almaty every March.  All of the three winners will be receive the “From the Altai to the Caspian Sea” atlas of monuments and sights of history, culture and geography of Kazakhstan.

The first and second place winners shall deliver a presentation about their ideas at an annual meeting with the foundation’s founders.  The foundation covers the costs of economy airline tickets within Kazakhstan and a one-night stay accommodation in Almaty.
